Do you experience the gap?
WUR is serious about data, and that includes yours! Your data and information are the cornerstones of your research and education. In the Digital Strategy, we have acknowledged that with exploring new scientific opportunities comes the need to innovate our research environment.
In line with this need follows the aim to facilitate and support shared infrastructure development and offer research support for data and tools with dedicated and flexible expertise.
Now, shared infrastructure and support for data and tools sounds lovely, and we at WUR already do have various solutions and teams working on infrastructure-related questions. Take, for instance, the High-Performance Cluster Anunna, the electronic notebook eLabJournal, the data management environment iRods/Yoda and the centrally organised Research IT teams (the team Research Data Management Infrastructure and the team Research IT Solutions. We are very curious to hear how you feel about this. Do you feel that the WUR-wide infrastructure solutions suit your needs? Or do you experience a gap between your needs and the actions that we at WDCC are undertaking to develop the shared infrastructure and support necessary for you as researcher or teacher?
Asking the abovementioned questions led to a very interesting discussion with the WDCC advisory group. However, if you would like to share your take on this topic, please get in touch with me, Roos Godefrooij, by sending an email to roos.godefrooij@wur.nl.
