Knowledge Support

How can we build an expert community within Wageningen University & Research that excels in AI, data science and software engineering for applications in agriculture, food and environment? The Knowledge Management project aims to answer this question by promoting and supporting knowledge sharing, vision development and collaboration. It also supports development of generic methods for data sharing. It stimulates knowledge exchange and co-creation between the various domains, for example in the form of workshops and demonstrations, in collaboration with other KB programs.

The Knowledge Management project aims to promote vision, knowledge sharing and collaboration in the field of digital data, algorithms, models and software. The project consists of the following activities (in order of priority):

  • It stimulates the exchange of knowledge and co-creation between the different domains, for example by (co-)organizing workshops, which are in most cases open to everyone within WUR. Collaboration with the other KB-programs is essential.
  • It contributes to developing a WUR vision on data science and AI.
  • The theme of ethics within data science and AI receives special attention within this project by setting up a training program, in collaboration with the WUR ELSA lab on this subject.
  • The projects supports the development of generic tools, for example for sharing data and knowledge, such as metadata editors and ontologies.
  • It finances the core team of the Data Driven & High-Tech program that is involved in the evaluation of projects and as a sounding board for the activities of the knowledge management project.
