SSG introduction programme
Dear new colleague, welcome to the Social Sciences Group (SSG) introduction programme! We are happy that you came to work with us and want to help you find your way as quickly as possible.
The information on this page is intended for new employees of SSG, including transfers from other departments within WUR and external PhDs, excluding interns and external employees (hired for a temporary assignment, not a WUR contract).
Practical help
Do you need help with navigating MyHR and Optare? The HR Servicedesk organises demo's that you can join.
The SSG introduction consists of two parts:
1. SSG introduction: what is SSG?
Four times a year we organise a meeting in which you:
- get to know the SSG directors
- talk about the SSG organisational chart
- learn about the SSG contribution to the WUR strategic plan
- are introduced to the SSG staff departments (Finance & Control, Communicatie & Marketing, Liaison Office en Human Resources)
New employees will automatically be invited to this meeting within the first 6 months on the job.
2. Theme sessions: get to know your way in SSG
During the year we organise several online sessions, each with its own theme. You will be invited to all sessions, but you are free to decline the invitation if you are already familiar with the theme.

- WUR services (Sport centre, library and language center, Education Support Hub SSG)
- How does the intranet work?
- Handy tools for (online) collaboration
