Summary

Winter dormancy is an important stage in the life cycle of cultivated strawberry. Because of its relevancy in strawberry cultivation, the environmental regulation of this process has been studied extensively. However, nothing is known about the genetic regulation of winter dormancy. In this research, a set of genes is investigated through analysis of the amino acid and nucleotide sequences, plant physiological and morphological experiments, and gene expression analysis. Potential regulators of winter dormancy are identified. The findings increase our understanding of winter dormancy in strawberry.
